Consider your forecast have total five months. Total strength required for every month may vary according to your planning. There must be a month having highest manpower requirement when compare with other months. This highest required strength is known as Peak Strength. As far as a particular Trade's peak strength is concerned, it may vary from overall peak strength. Sometimes we need Peak Strength when we plan manpower for a period of time span instead of a particular month.

First time when you prepare a planning forecast, you calculate the manpower based on that time's requirement. Later there may be some changes in the scope of your project due to any reason like corona pandemic or adverse climatic conditions or unexpected natural calamities or unforeseen terrain. This time you need to revise your manpower plan accordingly. The changed plan is called Revised Plan. MPMS always keeps the old revisions (This is automated by MPMS itself).

MPMS stands for Manpower Management System. This is a web application developed to manage Manpower of our Company. Shortages and surpluses can be identified so that quick action can be taken wherever required. It helps in growth and diversification of business. Through manpower planning, human resources can be readily available and they can be utilized in best manner.

Overstaffing a project can happen for multiple reasons; poor planning, the scope of work shifts and isn’t reflected in the workforce plan, or in some cases more resources are simply thrown at a project in an attempt to get the work done faster. Overstaffing can often have the opposite of the intended effect with idle hands leading to a distracted and less productive team. Not to mention the financial problems that arise when too much money is being spent on labor costs.

Effective manpower planning for construction projects will help to identify trends in your staffing needs. This will help to create a context for your staffing and whether it’s a temporary problem or if it requires more drastic action. If operations are able to identify specific projects that are overstaffed, they should promptly deal with the issue by reallocating resources to other projects.

Here comes MPMS to your assistance. MPMS is capable of analyse your forecast with existing strength (watching their vacation dues and contract expiries). Multiple projects can be handled very smartly and efficiently. You can analyse your planning with different parameters.
